BRILLIANTLY SIMPLE

Even if you are used to the most sophisticated cuisine, sometimes you fancy something straight forward and down to earth.
As with all simple recipes, the quality of the ingredients is key. To create an outstanding example, just following the instructions is not enough.
The Baron Modell T is built from especially resonant and lightweight woods and cautiously upgraded hardware. A little spice is added here and there, while staying true to the original’s character.
Unique variations unlock the great potential of the brilliantly simple design and bring new flavours to the table. Enjoy!

BODY

Like the earliest examples of this revolutionary design from the late 1940s, the Modell T uses pine wood for the body. Being very lightweight and resonant, this almost forgotton gem of tone woods delivers all the goods players are looking for in a T-style guitar. A sound that’s warm and open at the same time, with a very dynamic response and beautiful overtones. Regular pine supports a slightly softer sound, while the roasted variant has a bit more bite to it. Pine wood Modell T guitars consistently weigh in under 3 kg (6.6 lbs)

The use of different, often overlooked woods for the body opens a wide spectrum of great variantions with unique tonal properties. Like the lightweight okumé, which adds a hint of 1950s junior to the mix.

NECK

The use of European soft maple for the neck reduces weight and stiffness, which enhances resonance and dynamic response, resulting in instruments which feel more alive and lack any kind of tonal stiffness and hardship. The fretboard is made of American hard maple for better durability. Other fretboard materials like smoked oak firm the sound up a little without being overly harsh or dark.

Two neck profiles are available, which measure the same perfect middle-ground thickness, but feel very different. The round C-shape fills the hand in a comfortable way without being boxy, while the soft V neck feels slimmer due to less material at the shoulders. Ideal for players who grab the neck rock ’n‘ roll style.

The traditional one-way trussrod is mandatory for it’s low weight and tried and tested performance. Threaded inserts and stainless steel screws make the neck-body connection extremely durable, no matter how often the neck is removed. A perfect alignment means trouble-free performance on all strings.

A more modern 12″ fretboard radius and medium sized 2.6 x 1.2 mm fretwire allow for a lower string action and comfortable bendings.

BRIDGE

The neuralgic point where strings and body meet can not be over-estimated when it comes to the quality of resonance and sound of an electric guitar. In a T-style guitar it is also home of the bridge pickup, shaping it’s magnetic field. A slightly thicker US-made steel base is coupled with the intonation compensated Gotoh brass saddles to form the perfect bridge for the Modell T, reproducing a key element of the Modell 1 and 2 guitars: a very lightweight wooden construction coupled with a slightly more substantial bridge. A cut-out on the treble side enhances comfort and finger-picking possibilities.
